Summary
Situated at the heart of this sacred space, the altar area at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Woodward was in dire need of a renovation more befitting of the neoclassical grandeur of the surrounding sanctuary.
The platform for the altar was completely reconstructed and clad with two types of epoxy-set marble tiles. The existing marble altar was reduced in length and reconstructed, masking all seams. In addition, eight convenient electrical outlets were added, and a new Altar of Repose constructed.
All work was completed in four weeks. During construction the area was cleaned and all renovation equipment stored twice each week, allowing the church to use the sanctuary for Sunday and Wednesday services.
