St. Gregory’s Benedictine Centennial Restoration Project

Summary

This important project was embarked upon to restore the main university building on the St Gregory campus to its former glory and leave it in good order for its next 100 years. We provided construction management on the project which restored the buildings turrets, and undertook numerous other rehabilitations and restorations.

Extensive work was undertaken by skilled craftsmen including repairs to the buildings historic windows and the and replacement of non-historic windows, the refurbishment and restoration of the main entrance to its original historical configuration, general cleaning and repairs to the exterior of the building, and selective building systems upgrades.

The interior of the building received a substantial renovation in 1967 that removed much of the historic fabric. This project focused on restoring what could be restored from this earlier renovation, and sympathetically renovating other spaces to increase the functionality of this primary structure on the university campus.
