Summary
In recent years, the Choctaw Nation has made significant investments in community health, wellness, and early childhood education in McAlester, Oklahoma. As part of this effort, Timberlake Construction expanded the McAlester Wellness Center with a 9,000-square-foot remodel that introduced a full basketball gymnasium, office space, a breakroom, and an equipment room, all seamlessly integrated into the existing facility. This expansion was one of several wellness initiatives designed to strengthen access to fitness and health services for tribal members and the broader community.
At the same time, Timberlake delivered an 8,100-square-foot addition to the Choctaw Nation Head Start facility, transforming it into a comprehensive Child Development Center. The project added four classrooms: serving infants, one-year-olds, two-year-olds, and preschool children while creating new local jobs and expanding capacity to serve more families in the area.
