UCO Chiller Plant

Summary

Timberlake built the housing around a new chiller plant to provide air conditioning to their growing college campus. The 10,000 square-foot building was constructed to protect and support the mechanical infrastructure at its core, and was built in conjunction with the chiller pipelines installation, performed by Johnson Controls. Both projects were active simultaneously, requiring detailed organization, close coordination, and consistent teamwork between trades. A chiller plant is a large-scale air conditioning system designed to service multiple buildings across expansive campuses. Rather than cooling a single structure, it distributes conditioned air through a network of pipelines. UCO already had an existing plant in operation, and constructed this second facility to expand capacity and provide additional servicing to the growing number of new buildings on campus.
